About wattya & our data methodology
How wattya presents public electricity reports, estimates and source limitations.
Everyday curiosity, public evidence
wattya is an independent energy information project. It helps readers explore where electricity is produced, how reported flows connect grids, and what prices mean for everyday energy use. It is not affiliated with EIA or a grid operator.
Sources and updates
Power observations come from EIA-930; state retail prices come from EIA retail sales. The service collects power, flow and economic reports on a 15-minute schedule. Monthly prices remain monthly; a fresh collection does not mean a fresh observation. Static fallback pages retain their original source dates.
Estimates and corrections
Calculator defaults are illustrative assumptions. Missing values are marked unavailable. Numerical changes are observations, not proof of their cause. Compare questionable values with the linked source before relying on them. Content is prepared for wattya; no external expert review is claimed.
Funding and privacy
Advertising is labeled and separate from source data. Advertising does not establish endorsement of a product, tariff or utility.
